Weights, sizes and capacities

Container dimensions differ between manufacturers, and the weight of a given material varies considerably with moisture, age and composition — heavy Florida rain can add real weight to yard debris and roofing material sitting in an open container. Every figure published here is an approximate working number intended to help you choose a size, not a specification. The dimensions and allowance that apply to your rental are the ones confirmed on your quote.

Regulations and permits

Florida disposal rules, city ordinances, right-of-way permit requirements and transfer station policies change, and they can differ between the 13 communities we cover. Nine of the communities on our service-area list are real, independently incorporated Florida cities (Deltona itself, plus DeBary, Orange City, DeLand, Lake Helen, Port Orange, Daytona Beach, Ormond Beach, South Daytona and Holly Hill), each with its own local government and its own building or public works department; Osteen and Enterprise are real, named unincorporated Volusia County communities with no city hall of their own, where county rules apply instead; Sanford sits across the line in Seminole County, under that county's separate jurisdiction. Placement on a public street or in the right-of-way generally needs sign-off from whichever of those governments actually has jurisdiction — not one countywide rule. We were unable to confirm one uniform, citable ordinance section covering roll-off container placement specifically across every community we serve, so this site deliberately keeps that guidance general (confirm with your specific city or county before placing a container off your own property) rather than publishing an invented section number. Always confirm current requirements directly with the relevant city or county and with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) for household hazardous waste before relying on them.

Hurricane and storm-season debris

After a declared disaster, some Florida cities and counties run special curbside storm-debris collection separate from ordinary roll-off dumpster service, and FEMA/state debris-removal programs can have their own sorting and placement rules that differ from what applies to an ordinary rental. Nothing on this site should be read as describing any specific post-storm public collection program — confirm current guidance with your own city or county after a declared event.

Hazardous materials

Asbestos and lead paint work in Florida is regulated and, above defined thresholds, must be carried out by licensed contractors with prior notification to the state — a rule that matters here given how much renovation of older Deltona-area homes happens alongside new construction. Nothing on this site should be read as suggesting that such material may be placed in a container or handled without the required testing, licensing and notification.
